The League
Outside of Yorving, the name of the League is rarely known, but one shouldn't take this as an indication of its reach. The League is a criminal syndicate whose domain encompasses all of Rimewater Vale, originally formed by an alliance of prominent figures in Yorving's underworld, but which has steadily grown over the years in pursuit of ever greater sums of coin. Their activities are deeply clandestine, with layers of deniability combined with a ledger of bribes and leverage keeping the organisation from being prosecuted at large.
The Wine Houses
The most prominent features of the Juniper Hills are the estates heading wine-making operations. These estates belong to the Wine Houses, a selection of dynastic families that command great prestige throughout the confederation. While their business is in theory fully legal and above-board, the wine houses are in fact embroiled in the criminal underworld of Yorvingshire. Many of their activities are targeted at each other, each house attempting to gain an advantage in the wine trade and a greater share of fortune for their dynasty, but they are a deadly threat when united against an external enemy.
